This morning I received a call at 2:30am from Ricky's mum in Canberra with Ricky badly wanting to speak to me & complaining of a sore ear. I spoke to him for a short while & tried to console him & the spoke to his mum & asked if she had any medicine, she did not & said she had been up since 1am trying to settle Ricky but all he wanted was daddy, I told her she needed to get him some medicine & that I was away from home & it was too far for me to just come! She said she would try & I said good night to Ricky.
2:45am another call from her with Ricky wanting to talk to me. I spoke to him for about 30 minutes & then she begged me to come to get him, I agreed & left the coast for Canberra at 3:50am.
6am I arrived in Canberra & went home to have a quick coffee & gather some medicine & clothes for Ricky. 6:30am she called me asking how far away I was, I said I could meet her in 15 minutes & asked where, she said the Chisholm Shops Service Station. 6:45am I met her collected Ricky gave him some medicine, re-fuelled the car & left at 7am arriving back at the coast at 9:15am.
Ricky slept from this side of Queanbeyan until the coast & didnt even wake when I took him inside until 11:45am & then woke happily to find Santa presents & his loving Granny & Grandpa, Uncle Mark, Aunty Rebecca & Dimitri & his cousins. We are all very very pleased to see him & he did not even mention his ear until bed-time tonight.
Life continues to be interesting!
It's great to have Ricky here with us ow & can know he is safe & sound.
Tired now, I think I'll be off to bed.
All the best.
Paul.
